Within the park, the Forest Museum recreates the world of the charcoal burners, preserving the memory of the deep and enduring bond between people and the forest.

With the arrival of autumn, Sassetta is transformed by warm colors and rich aromas and hosts one of the community’s most cherished celebrations: the October Festivals, a tribute to local traditions, flavors, and identity. During these festivities, the village relives its medieval past through historical parades in costume, flag-throwing performances, and the famous Palio dei Ciuchi, a competition between the town districts.

Chestnuts, polenta, and game meat are the stars of the local cuisine, prepared according to traditional recipes passed down through generations.
